The beauty sector may be leading this transformation, but the same principles are increasingly relevant across fashion, lifestyle, pharmacy, consumer goods, and other experience-driven retail categories.

Uzbekistan’s Retail Market Maintains Strong Momentum as H1 Turnover Rises 20.2%

Uzbekistan’s retail market continued to demonstrate strong growth in the first half of 2026, highlighting the expanding scale and momentum of the country’s consumer economy.

According to data released by Uzbekistan’s National Statistics Committee, retail trade turnover reached UZS 251.8 trillion in January–June 2026, representing year-on-year growth of 20.2%.

The country’s retail business base is also substantial. As of 1 July 2026, 89,861 enterprises were operating in the retail trade sector, reflecting the depth and continued development of Uzbekistan’s retail ecosystem.

For retailers, brands, technology providers and investors, these figures point to a market where growing consumer activity is creating opportunities across store expansion, retail technology, payments, supply chains and modern retail infrastructure.

As Uzbekistan’s retail sector continues to develop, the market is becoming an increasingly important part of Central Asia’s wider retail growth story.

Retail Show Central Asia 2027 will bring the industry together in Tashkent to connect with regional retailers, buyers and partners and explore the opportunities shaping the next stage of retail growth.
